About
Indigo Oracle was founded to help people reach a greater level of self-awareness and deeper practice of self-development based on the insight gleaned from the sacred technique of Jyotish (Vedic Astrology).
Using the birth chart as a snapshot of the soul, we provide the information needed to set each client on a unique path towards growth and happiness. We use Jyotish to encourage a spiritual self-image that is authentic, holistic, and socially transcendent.
Indigo Oracle provides multiple services that can assist you in understanding yourself and the events of your life more deeply no matter where you are in your self-development journey. Our services will help you move forward in life more confidently and consciously with the information you need to realize your full potential.
Meet Marita
Marita Phelps
Marita began studying astrology as a curious teenager, exploring her birth chart through books, articles, videos, and blogs. Fascinated by astrology’s insights into selfhood, relationships, and interpersonal dynamics, she followed Western astrology for more than a decade before discovering Eastern astrology in 2020 and shifting her focus to the sidereal system.
After years of self-directed study, Marita formalized her dedication to Vedic astrology in 2022 by taking classes with Komilla Sutton. She launched Indigo Oracle in 2023 to share the wisdom she has amassed through study, professional and lived experience. Her practice blends astrological study with a 15-year career as an artist, nonprofit administrator, and consultant to purpose-driven organizations.
Since its launch, Indigo Oracle has appeared at 10+ vendor markets and festivals, served 20+ clients through private consultations, and hosted several community events for spiritualists and practitioners. Marita’s consultations are grounded, unbiased, and oriented toward tangible next steps for addressing challenging karma and fostering personal growth.
In addition to her astrology practice, Marita regularly consults mission-driven groups and individuals. Recent projects include work with the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Nike (Purpose Business Unit), Color of Change, Goodwill Industries, and Brooklyn Arts Council. She holds a BFA in Theatre Arts from Howard University and an MFA in Arts Leadership from Seattle University.
